What we collect and why

Through this portal we collect: account details for logged-in customers (name, email, linked customer number); quote and order details you submit; and, if you apply for a trade account, the information on the credit application — including company details, directors' and guarantor's names and contact details, bank details, trade references and an electronic signature. We collect this to operate your account, process quotes and orders, and assess and manage credit applications.

How it's stored and who sees it

Information is stored in MEGAFIX's systems hosted on Microsoft Azure (Australia). Credit application details (including bank details and signatures) are encrypted at rest and are accessible only to authorised MEGAFIX staff. We do not sell your information. We may disclose credit information to credit reporting bodies and other credit providers as described in the credit application terms, and to service providers who help us run the portal.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your cart. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (for example which pages are visited and how people navigate), which sets its own cookies and collects usage data such as your device type and approximate location. This helps us improve the portal. You can block cookies in your browser or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to run your account and meet our legal and tax obligations. Transaction records (orders, quotes and invoices) are retained for at least seven years as required under Australian tax law. Credit application records are retained while an account remains open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Other information is deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
